New Historic Inventions that influenced the lives of my characters in: ‘Kalvarianhof, The Perilous Journey’

While most of the characters in my first book, ‘Kalvarianhof, The Perilous Journey’ are fictitious, their lives play out against the background of amazing real inventions that we still marvel at today. Imagine going from horse and buggy, to the first automobiles, some powered by steam, some electric, but most by a gas engine, ( Benz autos in Munich).

People of the period of my novel (1900 to 1908) saw the first airplanes and dirigibles (Zeppelins) in the skies over Germany. Telephones, phonographs, silent movies, electric lights (mostly in cities, rural areas still used gas lights), all were amazing devices that changed civilization in the first decade of the 20th century, just as computers, cell phones, iPhone, the Internet, google and
amazon have changed our lives today.

We marvel at the inventions of our time, just as real people and my fictitious characters do in ‘Kalvarianhof, The Perilous Journey’, 1900 to 1908. Enjoy!
